If you frequent import car clubs in New York, Subaru WRX has always been the car to catch attention of someone in the crowd. Whether it's to size up your Subaru or to find out what is under the hood, Queens Subaru in NY knows that you would enjoy every bit the 2015 Subaru WRX. Its reveal at the LA Auto Show has made it the hot topic amongst many drivers of import cars in Queens. Subaru dealership now puts the new WRX in its own category away from its older sibling, the Impreza. The only carryover from the Impreza is the glass, roof and deck lid.  The original model was offered in two body styles but engineers carefully took their time and the money to develop a better chassis and powertrain so the 2015 sport car will no longer be offered in the hatchback body style but a sedan with new Ring Shaped Frame Reinforcement structure made with high-tensile strength steel and special stiffening elements at important key locations.

The Queens Subaru WRX is slightly larger than the Impreza by overall length, longer wheel base and added height. Subaru also widened the WRX giving the new body a stoutly look.  The exterior sheet metal has been completely redesigned. Viewing the new Subaru from the front, the new motif has a more aggressive attitude, giving you the feeling you might want to step aside even though the driver isn't behind the wheel. The hexagon grill is truly unique with narrower Halogen headlights on both sides. Carbon fiber-like pattern surrounds the fog-lights that sit in the front fender vents. Sid Sill Spoilers are featured on the front fenders to protect the doors from debris. From the side view, the rear doors lightly flare out towards the fenders for a wider rear body stance. If you want low-beam LED headlights or a rear lip spoiler, they will be available at Queens Subaru dealership in New York.

The effort Subaru engineers put into the new Subaru WRX will not disappoint you. Getting into the WRX at the Subaru dealership in New York is easy because new seating has higher hip points and the side sills have been lower.  The doors also open wider for much easier access.  Once you take that initial drive, you will understand that the 2015 Subaru WRX is every bit of what a performance sports car in Queens is about.

Since the wheelbase is one-inch longer, the new 2015 WRX has a roomier cabin than the previous gen. There is better forward visibility now that the scoop sits more deeply into the hood and it still functions to draw fresh air into the intercooler. Subaru engineers made front visibility even more superior by moving the A-pillars forward about eight inches at the base. We bet the first thing you do is grip the leather wrapped steering wheel to test your visibility and driving position.  The front sport seats are covered in a new High-Grip fabric and feature new tilt and height adjustable head restraints. The seats can be power adjustable if you choose the right model. Your rear seat passengers have it good with nearly two inches added to the legroom. While unoccupied, the seats split 60/40 and folds through to the already increased trunk.

There are some fancy details throughout the new Subaru, including soft-touch materials for the dashboard, door trim and center console armrest. The center console and dash trim has a new carbon fiber look with a number of storage compartments to hold your Smartphone and MP3 player. Connect your devices with Bluetooth or USB drives and control the audio without taking your hands off the wheel.

After you are in a comfortable driving setting, start the engine and watch the dual gauge layout light up with a 3.5inch LCD screen that will give you the Subaru WRX’s oil levels, gear ratio and even washer fluid.  While the new 4.3-inch LCD screen displays system functions like the rear camera, boost gauge, audio, Bluetooth, climate control settings and traction control. What is even more convenient for Queens Subaru drivers, a vehicle self-check and maintenance reminder can be set up on the central display.

Thanks to the new electronic power steering with quickened steering ratio, the Subaru WRX requires minimal steering input so it will get you out of the Subaru dealership at ease and go where you direct it to. but the best part about the Subaru WRX is the power train. The 2015 WRX gets a reworked version of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine from the Motor Trend SUV of the year, Forrester. With different cams and higher-rate valve springs, the 2015 Subaru makes 265 horsepower and 258 pound-ft of torque.

The 2015 Subaru has a battle between two transmissions. Both are great but the ultimate challenge is up to you. If you plan on going automatic, the 2015 Subaru WRX offers a new Sport Lineartronic CVT with three selectable driving modes and paddle shifters.  Intelligent, Sport and Sport Sharp modes can be changed from a switch on the steering wheel.  When you heard WRX and CVT in the same sentence, you were probably a little surprise but it’s better than the four-speed automatic. The CVT reacts fast with the paddle shifters or even if you don’t feel like shifting, it's perfectly capable of doing its own thing.  The new six-speed manual transmission gives a wider ratio spread than the previous generation car. The manual WRX in Queens doesn’t offer driving modes but it easily changes gears and the clutch pedal is not too heavy or too light. It’s just right.

A new torque-vectoring system compliments the two versions of Symmetrical AWD.  The manual version has a locking center differential that distributes torque equally to the front and the rear. If anything should occur, stability and traction control transfers power the wheels with the best traction. The Sport CVT AWD includes Variable Torque Distribution that constantly makes use of the torque by monitoring your driving manners and conditions in New York. The torque is split 45:55 with the rear torque contributing to the handling agility A new torque-vectoring system improves cornering speeds and handling. When the 2015 Subaru WRX needs to corner, you can feel the rear wheels move the car around the bend with no slip.

The Sports sedan from Queens Subaru also has improved brakes. The 2015 WRX now uses 12.4-inch ventilated front rotors with dual-piston calibers and the rear rotors were carried over from the previous gen.  Each Queens Subaru model get newly designed 17-inch wheels with 235/45R17 Dunlop Sport tires. The wheels now have five-lugs like the STI with a dark finish.

The WRX has always been fun to drive but the new changes make the 2015 Subaru top in class and best sport sedan for fun driving all year long. The new Subaru is frustrating just because you can’t have one right now. However, put that aggravation aside. The 2015 Subaru WRX is worth the wait and it won’t be too long when NY drivers have the opportunity to finally see one in NY. Subaru dealers will have the new WRX available end of next year. If you want to be one of the first, connect with Koeppel Subaru in New York.
