Technology

Technology abounds with the Subaru Ascent, providing a long list of standard and optional features. The Subaru Ascent Base comes with wireless smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto), a 11.6-inch touchscreen display, a 6-speaker audio system, USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you're interested in increasing tech, then the Onyx Edition Limited offers a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, an intercom system, a 360-degree camera system, and increased driver assistance features. The Limited trim allows for optional features to be added, which include a 360-degree surround-view system, an intercom system, an integrated navigation system, and a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The top-level Touring trim manages such features a 120-volt power outlet and a 180-degree forward parking camera.

Regardless of the trim selected, the Subaru Ascent manages a long list of driver assistance features. For starters, the Subaru Ascent Base comes equipped with forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping system, adaptive headlights, trailer sway damping, and rear seat reminder. The Premium trim includes all of the standard driver assistance features while also adding blind-spot warning with rear cross traffic warning and evasive steering assistance. Moving to the Onyx Edition Limited boasts driver attention monitoring and a 360-degree surround-view system. The Limited trim comes with all of the above-mentioned driver assistance features while also making a 360-degree surround-view system optional along with driver attention monitor. The Touring trim comes with all of the above-mentioned features along with a 180-degree forward parking camera.

Trim Levels

Subaru Ascent Base

The entry-level Subaru Ascent Base provides drivers with a well-rounded option that's equipped with all the modern essential features. The Base trim level is powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine that makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This engine works with a continuously variable transmission and also features standard symmetrical all-wheel drive. As far as interior features go, the Subaru Ascent Base comes with tri-zone automatic climate control, cloth upholstery, and seating for eight. Tech included with the Subaru Ascent Base range from an 11.6-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 6-speaker audio system, four USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Base trim also comes with an entire suite of driver assistance features, including forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping system, adaptive headlights, trailer sway damping, and rear seat reminder.

Subaru Ascent Premium

The Premium trim makes some important upgrades, making a long list of comfort and convenience changes while also making a variety of additional features optional. The Premium trim ups the towing capacity from 2,000 pounds to 5,000 pounds while also adding heated mirrors. Interior features added with the Premium trim include upgraded interior materials, a power adjustable driver's seat, heated front seats, rear seat climate controls, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel/shift knob. The Premium trim adds blind-spot warning with rear cross traffic warning and evasive steering. It's worth noting that the seven-passenger version of the Subaru Ascent Premium trim comes with a few feature additions. These additions include power liftgate, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a rear center console, and rear automatic braking.

Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition

The Onyx Edition trim is a seven-passenger configuration of the Ascent that leans towards the near-luxury end of things. The Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition adds a panoramic sunroof, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, a heated steering wheel, water-repellent synthetic leather upholstery, and a power liftgate. The Onyx Edition also adds 20-inch black finish alloy wheels, an upgraded all-wheel drive system, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Exterior features with the Onyx Edition includes a black grille and black exterior trim.

Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition Limited

The Onyx Edition Limited takes the base Onyx Edition and improves things by adding some additional near-luxury tech and comfort features. The Onyx Edition Limited manages to add such interior features as second-row sunshades, heated second-row seats, a power adjustable front passenger seat, a driver's seat with memory settings and additional adjustments. Tech additions to the Onyx Edition Limited include an integrated navigation system, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, an intercom system, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system. The Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition Limited also adds driver attention monitoring.

Subaru Ascent Limited

The Subaru Ascent Limited doesn't mess around, offering some lavishly modern features to enjoy. The Limited trim is a seven-passenger version of the Ascent that manages interior features like leather upholstery, a synthetic leather dash panel, and second-row retractable sunshades. The Limited trim also comes with 20-inch dark gray allow wheels. The Limited trim manages a long list of optional features, too. These include a dual-panel panoramic sunroof with sunshades, a cargo cover, an integrated navigation system, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 360-degree surround-view camera system, and folding mirrors with integrated turn signals.
