Subaru is a manufacturer known for producing high-quality vehicles at an affordable price. As such, making the choice to drive a Subaru is an easy one. However, what is one to do when faced with a choice between two Subarus? Let's compare and contrast two Subaru greats, the Forester and the Outback, to see which one comes out on top.

Both vehicles are SUVs and share similar features with one another. They are both powered by 2.5L four-cylinder BOXER engine and they both come standard with Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist technology, which provides state-of-the-art safety and intervention tech. Additionally, they both offer the standard STARLINK multimedia package that provides Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with a superior multimedia experience. With these outstanding similarities, it’s hard to see much difference between the two.

Each vehicle has a few strengths that make it better suited for drivers with specific needs. The Forester is slightly larger, with more headroom and slightly more cargo space, but lacks some of the travel options that the Outback possesses. While their interior volume is comparable, the Outback has an available engine upgrade, a 2.4L turbocharged BOXER that sports additional horsepower and increases towing capacity up to 3,500 pounds. This is 2,000 pounds more than the Forester can manage and the Outback also features roof rails with integrated crossbars and tie-downs. For long-distance trips that involve large amounts of external cargo, the Outback pulls ahead.

Aside from towing, both vehicles are very similar and drivers are best advised to see the difference for themselves.
